Be not a winner.. But a champion..
15 AugThe world’s future sporting heroes were issued a challenge last night: to win with character.
International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge’s speech to mark the opening of the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) was not the usual spiel about breaching personal barriers and setting records, but about striving for a more noble ideal. The former sailor said of the YOG in his speech: ‘You will learn the difference between winning and being a champion.
‘To win, you merely have to cross the finish line first.’
Dr Rogge could well have been describing the multiple Olympic medallists when he said: ‘To be a champion, you have to inspire admiration for your character, as well as for your physical talent.
‘You have to compete in the spirit of fair play, respecting your opponents and the rules, without doping or any other unfair advantage.
‘If you can reach that pinnacle, if you are ready to serve as role models for your generation, then you will all be champions irrespective of your rankings.’

jie lun jie lun jie lun~~~
31 JulI went for Jie Lun’s concert last week! Though it has been a week, I am still not getting over it. His songs have been playing in my mind, like forever! haa….
The concert effects were awesome too! His dance moves improved tremendously too. Worth every cent that I spent. Really lucky to have been able to go. Thank you Kim Yan! (Not sure if you can read this though. haa..)
Think most of his songs are really nice. The concepts, the tunes and the lyrics are really great! And he is really becoming more and more cheeky. But I like! Melted by him…. (aawwwww…..)
As the concert ended, I guess he took my heart away with him as well. I’m so gonna go for his next concert. (Praying hard that I’ll get the tickets!!!)
*p.s. I know i sound like a crazy fan.. but i’m still normal.. so don’t worry… hee…. =Pp

27 Junin every path that we take..there are many junctions that we’ll face…
sometimes being afraid… we dare not turn.. we rather choose to continue straight in the path….. without realising that even straight roads have corners.. which still brings us to another our direction not under our choice…..
life brings us all sorts of surprises in every decision that we and others in our life make… be it happiness or sorrows… be it deliberate or not… i guess this is what makes our life interesting…..
this show always strikes me to reflect upon my life whenever i happen to watch it… connecting the dots of my life…. and i’m glad life has been great for me…
